For those who do not know, this is an Irish Claddagh symbol. Pronounced "Clad - daw"

It stands for love, loyalty and friendship.

There are rings with the Claddagh symbol(s) that are usually promise rings or can certainly be used in Celtic weddings. If you see a person wearing a ring with the Claddagh symbol and the heart on the ring is facing towards them, they are taken. If the heart is facing away from them, they are single. :)

This was my first attempt to create this type of thing and I'm TERRIBLE at hands! LOL I didn't really mess with the colors or anything, just messing with it. I'll work on another version and put part 2 out someday. :)
