I visited the link, that barefoot jewelry is very beautiful! here in Argentina we use "tobilleras" that just go around the ankle, like this

without that connection to a finger toe. They are not in common use here, but you can see them mostly during summertime in the beach

That pesky life getting in the way of things? I find chasing it around with a rolled up newspaper works wonderfully... granted to everyone else it just looks like I am a lunatic swatting the air but that somehow makes it more amusing.
